Intensive Spanish and Mexican Culture Course

Introduction
The program is designed in such a way that allows both intermediate and advanced students of Spanish participate on it. The level is determined on the basis of a placement test that must be taken upon arrival. The maximum number of students is 20 per group.

General Goal
Students will develop reading and writing skills for Spanish language until reaching the established competences for each level. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand and communicate in Spanish just as expected from local students in any course given in any undergraduate program at the University of Colima.

Methodology
Teaching methods on these courses aim at the active participation of students in order to develop communicative competences. Contents and methodologies are combined according to students’ opportunity areas identified during the process in order to ease a personalized learning. 


Time details of the course
• Length: 5 weeks
• Period: June-July
• Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 13:00 (4 hours per day)
• Cultural activities on Saturdays
• Lecture hours: 24
• Practical hours: 88

Program requirements
• Students must be over 18 years of age (or older)
• Letter of Intent
• Valid passport
• Health Insurance Certificate
• Application letter (from Home Institution)
• Placement test (upon arrival)
• Interview (upon arrival, Academic Coordination EAPE)
• Curriculum Vitae
• Payment of corresponding fees

Fees
→ 1,400 USD (5-week course). It includes:
• Enrollment fees
• Books
• Cultural activities (including visits to different historic and cultural locations in Colima)
• Central Campus tour


Deadline for registration
→ 2 months prior to course start date
