Researchers from the University of Colima, Ana Uribe and José Manuel de la Mora, visited the facilities of the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) to present advances of the Research Project "Educational experiences of Mexican migrants in programs of Community Plazas in California ", funded by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) and the National Institute for the Evaluation of Education (INEE).
During the presentation, the professors mentioned that they have visited more than 30 schools for adults in California, United States, and that they conducted interviews with students, coordinators and teachers, as well as a quantitative survey on the perception of the curriculum and the school experience experienced by the students of the adult program.
Among the findings, they highlighted the satisfactory impact generated by the life and work experience of migrants to enrich their educational experience. According to the project coordinator, Ana Uribe, another of the objectives of the meeting "was to establish academic work links to generate institutional alliances that support the development of research work."
UdeC researchers Jonás Larios Denís, Isaac Uribe Alvarado and Paul Ceja Mendoza also participate in this work. In addition, Nina Martínez Arellano, of the Autonomous University of Baja California, as well as students of the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Colima.
At the work meeting, which took place in Mexico City, Claudio Antonio Rodríguez Fuentes, Deputy Director of Strategic Projects and International Affairs, was present at INEA; Arturo González Salas, director of Concertación y Alianzas Estratégicas, and María Rosa Araiza Flores, head of the Department of International Affairs of INEA. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was Luisa Medina Mora, Director of Education and Culture of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad.
