According to the Organic Law of the University of Colima and the ordinance of Schools and Faculties, the Technical Committees are the highest collegiate governing bodies within high schools, schools and faculties of our institution.

They are integrated having parity with a titular representative and an alternate for the professors and students, for each one of the groups which comprise the career or careers taught on campus.

The Director, Principal or Dean of the institution will preside over the corresponding Technical Committee, with voice and casting vote which may be decisive in case of a tie and the Administrative Secretary or whoever may perform these functions may serve as secretary, rapporteur and notary , with the right of voice but without vote.

The Advisers will maintain their appointed position for two years and must be elected during the August-January semester.

Functions

According to the Organic Law of the University of Colima and the ordinance of Schools and Faculties, the Technical Committees will have the following functions and attributions:
  • Promoting everything that may contribute to the cultural, academic, technical disciplinary, and administrative improvement of the institution.
  • Watching over the strict compliance of the current university legislation.
  • Proposing innovative projects, and modifications to study plans to the corresponding university bodies and presenting them for their approval.
All others assigned within the School and Faculty regulations, in the Organic Law, the University Council, and in the present university regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

Professor
  • Being a head professor of the corresponding institution and being in active academic service.
  • Having at least three years seniority in the corresponding institution.
  • Not having committed serious offenses against university discipline, and
  • Not having attacked the university or its authorities either by Word or acts.
Student
  • Being a regular student up to the day of election.
  • Having passed at least the first semester previous to the election at one of the university institutions.
  • Having a grade point average of 8 (eight) as minimum.
  • Not being an employee of the university at the time of the election, and
  • Not having committed serious offenses against university discipline.
